The Daydream Vase

From the heart of Calf Handmade Studio, this vase is lovingly handcrafted by artisan Liu Kun, who has poured over a decade of passion into his work in Jingdezhen, the world’s capital of porcelain.

Liu reimagines the gentle, classic silhouette of a moon jar, seeing in its form the simple, heartwarming joy of a piece of candy. Each vase is shaped entirely by hand, carrying the unique story of its creation from a simple ball of clay to a finished work of art. This dedication is guided by Liu Kun's principle: "If the heart is free, what it creates will be inclusive and welcoming."

This vase is a daydream, captured in clay. Its journey begins with a gracefully twisted form, like a fleeting thought taking shape.

A wild, untamable green glaze flows across the surface, weaving through the curves and contours. It’s a color that feels alive, charting its own course and linking each twist and turn into a continuous, beautiful fantasy. It invites your mind to wander, to trace the path of the glaze and get lost in your own daydreams.

MATERIALS: Jingdezhen high-quality porcelain clay

TECHNIQUE: Hand-thrown and shaped, with underglaze hand-painting.

GLAZE: Finished with a custom transparent glaze.

FIRING: High-temperature firing at 1200°C
